Relay for Life success

Sorry about yesterday...it was really busy. Relay for Life was held here at the Center over the weekend...I heard the Grand Total raised by the Tyrrell County Relay for Life was about 31,000 dollars...that's $10 per person! The Eastern 4-H Center also won the award for best "Team Theme!"

The rain poured in late on Friday night pushing the events indoors...Charles Midgette walked for an alleged 089712 miles. The Summer Staff showed up to walk (maybe an excuse to break curfew), and really brought some life to the party. This year's summer staff is a lot of fun.

Yesterday's staff training regiment consisted on Impressions with a special presentation of "Good Counselor, Bad Counselor", Dr. David Collier and Team from Brody School of Med, and a little high ropings. Everyone that could attempt the course, did so. Only 2 staff members opted out of the zipline. Unbelievably, I have never been down the zipline. It's not the quickest way down for me when I am facilitating, though. Today is CPR and First Aid day...everyone has to be certified...

The rest of the week we will test our lifeguards and tie up loose ends...camp starts in 5 days!!!!!!!

Enjoy the day...
